Who can use Synthesis
Synthesis is built for high school students. Accounts are for students 14 or older — we ask for your date of birth when you create an account to confirm this, and we refuse (and do not keep) a date of birth below that age. Synthesis is intended for users in the United States. We don't market to or accept signups from the EU or UK.
Information we collect
We collect the profile information you provide during onboarding (grade level, interests, goals, time availability), any optional demographics you choose to share, and your date of birth (used only to confirm you are 14 or older). If you use Synthesis without an account, your profile stays in your browser's local storage and is not sent to our servers.
How we use your information
We use your information to generate personalized opportunity recommendations, filter for eligibility, and send deadline reminders you opt into. We do not sell your information.
Who we share it with (subprocessors)
We share data only with the subprocessors needed to run the service: Supabase (database and authentication) and Vercel (hosting and privacy-preserving analytics).
Data retention
We retain your data according to the schedule below, and hard-delete it when you delete your account.
Deleting your account and your data
You can request deletion at any time from your profile settings. We hard-delete your profile, demographics, date of birth, and tracker data within 30 days.

Synthesis helps you discover scholarships, programs, and other opportunities, but we're an independent tool — we're not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any of the organizations we link to. We do our best to keep listings accurate, but details like deadlines, eligibility requirements, award amounts, and availability change often and may be out of date or incorrect. We don't guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any listing, and we don't guarantee that using Synthesis will result in any scholarship, admission, or award. Always confirm the details on the provider's own official website before you apply or rely on anything you find here. You use Synthesis at your own discretion.
